HDLC software designed and tuned to perform

Overview

The Adax HDLC software provides complete HDLC/LAPB/LAPD layer 2 data communication control conforming to the CCITT/ITU and industry standards of layer two protocols. This includes frame formatting, transparency (so-called "bit stuffing") and error detection. Contained in the buffer management is an on-chip dual channel DMA engine with one channel for receive and one channel for transmit.

DLPI Support

Adax streams-based UNIX drivers support standard UNIX DLPI/LLI interface specification for lower layer drivers. This interface has been used successfully in the commercial data and telephony markets with much success and appreciation for ease of use and integration.

LAPB/LAPD/LAPV5/LAPF

Additional Adax streams software modules and APIs support the LAPB/LAPD/LAPV5/LAPF protocols (please refer to separate data sheet).

Operating Systems Support and Adax Protocol Controllers

All Adax products are available for PCI, cPCI and PMC architectures, supporting Linux and Solaris Operating Systems. VxWorks, HP-UX and IBM AIX are also supported for certain products.

The HDLC/LAPB/LAPD software operates with the following Adax products:

• ATM Controller for Real Time Voice and Video over AAL2 signaling and IP over AAL5
• ACT Channelized Controller for HDLC, LAPB/D and Frame Relay

Adax Software

Adax Protocol Software (APS) is a suite of products designed to get the most out of each Adax hardware product and is supplied with a set of common APIs enabling simple integration of the upper layers. Adax HDLC, SS7, SCTP, X.25, Frame Relay, LAPB, LAPD and LAPV5 provide a well-balanced, high performance, low overhead direct connection to the network.
