Due to Industry demands for greater reliability and carrier-grade solutions, Adax have ported their High Density Controller (HDC) to the MontaVista® Linux® Carrier Grade Edition (CGE) Operating System and development environment.

MontaVista Linux Carrier Grade Edition (CGE) is an advanced Linux-based development platform. CGE is targeted for edge and core telecommunications including applications for the converging IP and voice networks such as softswitches, SGSN and GGSN and Voice over IP gateways, as well as many other applications. It enhances standard Linux with additional real-time, high availability and high reliability features based on the Open Source Development Lab (OSDL) Carrier Grade Linux Specification and it is designed for deployment in any carrier-grade class environment.

The HDC has been specifically designed for the demanding telecommunications systems that have high capacity and high throughput requirements. In order to support the HDC’s capabilities, there was a need to port to the MontaVista Linux CGE, which has been designed for the robust and highly available requirements of carrier grade class applications. The HDC is used within wireless, wireline, converging PSTN/IP network platforms and likewise CGE is being used today in Telecom and Datacom applications for use in packet based and wireless infrastructure solutions.
