Adax Announces QuickPort:
The Adax Development and Support Suite for the Cavium Processor
Adax modified and enhanced Cavium SDK enables Telecom
developers reduced
time-to-market and improved performance for their own and customer
applications.
October 13th 2010, Berkeley, CA - The unique power
of the Adax PacketRunner (APR), an intelligent, I/O-centric ATCA carrier
blade, and PacketAMC
(PktAMC) lies in the on-board Cavium OCTEON™ Plus processor but
for telecom developers that is only half the battle…the ability
to efficiently access and utilize that power is the other half of the
equation necessary to develop and field successful applications. The
Adax QuickPort solution for the APR & PktAMC boards enables developers
to begin their work right away, enhancing performance and reducing
time-to-market for their own and customer applications.
The Adax PacketRunner and PacketAMC products take full advantage of
the on-board OCTEON™ Plus 5650 and 5645 processors for Adax applications.
Now that advantage is available to the general marketplace with a rapid
software development/porting suite - QuickPort puts the power of multi-core
processing at the command of application developers and systems integrators.
Adax have modified and enhanced the Cavium SDK with kernel libraries
and configuration options optimized to provide a pre-built platform
that jump-starts development and testing of telecom applications. Netboot,
CF or MicroSD boot options are available with pre-built kernel and
library options that get the system booted and operational as fast
as possible. Adax QuickPort offers a friendly application development
environment that allows developers to completely bypass building a
kernel and root file system, enabling testing of pre-installed Adax
software such as Linux® Streams (LiS) and HDC3 and ATM4 board drivers
to begin immediately. Quick setup of a rich Cavium development environment
proves that QuickPort lives up to the promise its name implies.
“Adax prides itself on developing and delivering high-performance
telecom products. We have invested scores of man-years into multi-core,
multi-threaded kernel-level driver development. QuickPort embodies
this investment and applies it to our state-of-the-art Cavium based
products” said Dr. Barry Zuckerman, President of Adax, Inc. “QuickPort opens a new era for Adax, offering our core expertise directly to our
customers. We are very excited about enabling rapid development and
deployment to Cavium telco users.”
