Adax Solutions for Femto/Home NodeB Gateways
Femtocell Access Points (FAP) enhance in-building access and the
Femtocell Gateway (FGW), also referred to as the Home NodeB Gateway
(HNBGW) provides access to the core network. Supporting both
voice and data services the FGW delivers control and user plane
capabilities and provides aggregation 100s & 1,000s of FAPs.
The FGW provides protocol interworking to the core network with
3.5/3G SS7 TDM or ATM transport and can be deployed as a fully
integrated standalone device or with an external Security Gateway
and/or Media Controller.
The APR is the ideal host for the FGW application and flexible
I/O options are available with the HDC3 for TDM interfaces and
the ATM4 providing access to 2.5 and 3G networks at the same
time. The FGW is scalable on a blade by blade basis from 2U
to 5U to
12U chassis with a fully redundant and Highly-Available architecture
of ATCA components and HA software delivering a cost-effective
solution.
Adax Solutions for Security Gateways (SEG)
Security is the largest problem to solve for LTE/4G and Cloud
Computing. Every device in the network will either have embedded
security
or an SEG to protect it and in the case of LTE IPv6 requires
security on every connection. Standalone SEGs are often ‘overkill’ in
terms of capacity and are expensive to field.
The APR is the ideal host for an SEG integrated with any device
such as a FemtoGW with the on-board Cavium on the APR or PktAMC
supporting the security applications, IPsec and FastPath processing
on its cores. The flexibility of the APR supports IPsec-enabled
PktAMCs and HDC3/ATM4 cards in the same blade and more PktAMCs
and I/O cards can be added as required for more IPsec Security
Associations or users, providing a completely scalable solution.
